I turn technology into products humans can actually use.

Francesca is a Principal Product Designer with 10+ years of experience.

She started her career in digital agencies, then moved into the luxury space working for Giorgio Armani and Moncler. Having a technical background, she moved into the cybersecurity space and she is now working at Sysdig, where she designs interfaces for highly complex cloud security and threat detection systems: runtime security, threat intelligence, Kubernetes workflows, and large-scale data visualization platforms - including graph-based representations for threat analysis and cloud resource relationships. She is now focusing on ideating experimental new AI interfaces that go beyond traditional UI paradigms and define new human-AI interaction models.

With a background in Computer Science, she gravitates toward deeply technical products, moving naturally between hands-on execution and design leadership, balancing IC work with growing small design teams over the years.

Outside of design, she has a surprisingly good ability to pick a good melon.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

2006 – 2012

I built a strong foundation in algorithms, software engineering, databases, data structures, and information visualization. My thesis focused on graphs, exploring how visual representations can help people understand social network behaviors and evolving datasets. As a case study, I analyzed social network activity generated around the 2012 Emilia earthquake, studying how information and interactions spread during the event.

A bit more personal

I live in the countryside near Bologna. I’m a quiet person who loves simple things: cats, gardening, snorkelling and photography. As a designer, my strength is generating ideas quickly. Give me context and I’ll come up with multiple paths forward. If you ask for an immediate opinion, I usually need a bit of time to think it through. I love crime books with a touch of irony, practise swimming despite being terrible at most sports, and fully rely on my eight hours of sleep. I adore Scandinavian design, all animals, and would open a shelter if I ever won the lottery.

I worked as photographer for a long time, now only a hobby, I mostly shoot film.
